General Rules

  1. Every student must possess an Identity Card and Library Card. A fees of Rs. 25/- will be collected along with other fees at the time of admission towards the cost of these cards. As soon as College reopens each student will be issued an Identity Card and a Library Card.
  2. During College hours every student must wear their Identity Card and must produce it whenever he/she is called upon to do so by the authorities.
  3. Students are expected to attend lectures/practicals/tutorials regularly and should not remain absent without permission from the Principal. Attendance will be taken daily during lectures/practical/tutorials. Student irregular in attendance, and if progress in various college tests/examinations is not satisfactory will not be granted their terms. N.B. The attention of students is drawn to Ordinance 0.119 and 0.115 of the University of Mumbai which are reproduced below :

University Ordinance 0-119 - In the Faculty of Arts / Science / Commerce the minimum attendance for keeping terms will be three - fourths of the days on which lectures / practicals are conducted.
University Ordinance 0.115

  1. To keep a term at a College, a student must complete to the satisfaction of the Principal the courses of the studies prescribed for that term of the class to which the undergraduate belongs.
  2. Students are expected to maintain proper discipline in the class as well as within the College premises and ensure that no disturbance is caused to fellow students of the other classes.
  3. Students shall not indulge in anything inside or outside the College that will in any way interfere with its discipline.
  4. Student shall not loiter in the corridors while the classes are in progress.
  5. Students should help in keeping the college premises tidy and should not damage any property of the college by disfiguring walls, door, fitting & Furniture etc.
  6. Students should not communicate any information to the press or write in the press about any matter concerning the college without the permission of the Principal.
  7. If for any reason, the continuance of a student in the college is found to be detrimental to the best interest of the college in the opinion of the Principal, he/she will be asked to leave the college.
  8. Government or College Scholarship / Free Studentship will be granted only to such student who are regular in attendance and whose conduct and progress are satisfactory.
  9. It is the responsibility of students to see notice boards regularly and fill up the respective forms for freeships / scholarships from government. Students changing from one College to another will be required to produce a No Objection Certificate from the Principal of the College previously attended as well as from Director of Education and / or Social Welfare Officer.
  10. Smoking / Chewing Pan / Tobacco and spitting are strictly prohibited in the college.
  11. Matters not covered by the existing rules will rest at the discretion of the Principal.

Junior College

  1. Students will be required to appear for Four Unit Tests (two in each term) and two examinations one at the end of each term.
  2. Attendance at these tests / examinations is compulsory. Students who do not appear for these tests / examinations may not be promoted to the higher class.
  3. Guardians / Parents should verify the performance of their wards at each test / examination by scrutinizing the answer books which will be returned to the students after assessment.
  4. Results of these tests / examinations will be sent to the parents / guardians. In case, they do not receive the result cards, parents / guardians are requested to meet the Principal. One of the special features of the Junior College result is that there will be a parents meeting at the end of the 1st term. This will help parents / guardians in keeping a check on the progress of their wards during the year.

Rules regarding promotion to S.Y.J.C.
According to the rules of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, Pune, promotion to the S.Y.J.C. Class will be determined on the basis of the marks obtained in :
(a) Four Unit Tests in each subject (25 marks each) - 100 marks
(b) First Terminal Examination - 100 marks
(c) Second Terminal Examination - 100 marks
The Final result of a Student's performance will be decided on the basis of the average of the marks obtained at these tests / examinations. (a) + (b) + (c) /3
Rules regarding the FY and SY B.A./B.Sc./B.com Examination
(a)The University of Mumbai has entrusted the conduct of the first Year B.A., B.Sc. And B. Com. Examination to the College with effect from the academic year 1983 -84.
(b)All rules and regulation of the University of Mumbai in force, or as modified from time to time, shall apply. In order to be permitted to appear at the First Year / Second Year Examinations, it is necessary for the candidates to have a minimum of 75% attendance for lectures / practicals and also to have kept terms and to have completed the course of study to the satisfaction of the Principal of the college. The decision of the Principal in this regard shall be final.
(c) The Student of the F.Y. and S.Y. B. A. / B. Sc. / B. Com. Classes are required to appear for an examination at the end of the First Term and another examination at the end of the Second Term.
(d) passing standard : To pass, a student shall have to secure : 
I) A minimum of 35% in the aggregate of marks in each paper or subject at the first term and second term Examination for the said paper / subject. 
Ii) Attendance to the tutorials, projects and practicals are compulsory.
